Cornish Christmas

Here we are in Nevada City. It's not as cold as I thought it was going to be. It snowed a few days ago but the rain killed it. :( It would have been nice, especially for Belle, who loves to play in it. I remember last year spending Christmas with Jack & Rose (Bello's mom and step-dad), Mickey and Minnie (my dad and step-mom), Fat Mike (Bello's step-brother), and Lilawalla (Bello's grandmother) and as we sat down to Christmas dinner, it began to snow very heavily and it was spectacular! After dinner, we all went outside and played in the snow. Of course, Mickey and his inner child started a snow fight. It was fun!

Last night, Bello, Belle, Fat Mike and I all went down to Grass Valley for the Cornish Christmas. It was beautiful. All the shops and buildings had Christmas lights up, there were sidewalk shops, food booths, Christmas Carolers, people playing Christmas music AND chestnuts roasting on an open fire! I kid you not! It was so delightful to see this and they were so sweet and delicious. No one else cared for them but I thought they were great. I really enjoyed looking at everything. I bought my mom, Layla, a gorgeous gift from one of the sidewalk shops. I also bought her another gift at the shop that Rose works at. My brother, Tony, will love what I got her. Bello, Belle, Tony and I all put our money together to buy our parents some wonderful gifts this holiday. I hope Layla likes what we got her!

Tonight, Rose, Belle and I are going to make some Christmas gifts. This will be our third traditional season of making these. The first year, we made Gifts in a Jar, last year we made baskets with homemade chocolates and liquor and this year, well - I'm not tellin' cuz there are people who read this site and they are the ones receiving it!

So, I am off to make gifts and Rose's delicious meatballs for dinner! I will post the pictures from Cornish Christmas on Monday so come back and check them out.
