Minnie

Minnie is my step-mom, married to my dad (Mickey), and Minnie had a liver transplant six months ago. When Minnie found out about the transplant, she was excited, nervous and scared. After the transplant, everything appeared to be going well for about a month until her back gave out. Minnie had many biopsies to find out what was going on and it turns out that because she couldn't move or sleep on her side, her back began to ache severely, causing major problems. Minnie has been through a great ordeal but has received the ultimate help from her mom (Grandma Daisy), Tinkerbell (Minnie's sister), Peter (my step-brother) and of course my daddy, the wonderful Mickey.

It took many months for my mom to gather enough strength to even walk. However, with the help of physical therapy, family and friend support, it was reported the other day that Minnie went out on her own, drove to a couple of stores and went shopping! I just about dropped dead when she called to tell me what she did. I didn't know whether to jump for joy or grab onto something to break my fall for fear of her hurting herself. I must admit, mom sounded very happy and I couldn't help but be a proud daughter. So, I want to tell you, Minnie mom, that I

AM VERY VERY VERY PROUD OF YOU!
