Pointless Conversations

Bello's conversation he had with Belle last week when he picked her up from school.

Belle: How come you’re picking me up from school?

Bello: Because mom asked me to.

Belle: Oh. Am I in trouble?

Bello: No, why?

Belle: Because I thought maybe my teacher had called saying that I was passing notes in class.

Bello: Were you passing notes in class?

Belle: No.

Bello: Then why would your teacher call mom if you weren’t passing notes in class?

Belle: Well, because all the popular girls in my class never get a call home when they get caught passing notes but my teacher always calls mom. It’s not fair.

Bello: Then don’t pass notes in class.

Belle: I know! I don’t pass notes in class.

Bello: Then what’s the problem, Belle?

Belle: I just don’t think it’s fair that they don’t get a phone call home but I do.

Bello: But you’re not going to get a phone call home because you just said that you weren’t passing notes.

Belle: I know, dad!! I’m saying that it’s not fair! It’s just the point of it all!

Bello: Then don’t pass notes in class.

Belle: Dad!
