The Green Stone

Bello's mom bought me some earrings made of the green stone called moldavite for a birthday gift.

The history behind this mysterious stone is that it comes from a meteorite that crashed into the Moldau Valley of Czechoslovakia 20 million years ago. Some disagree that it is an actual meteorite but some kind of rock that was struck by a meteorite and melted. Others think there is a combination of extraterrestrial and terrestrial properties formed in outer space that created the meteor. I don't know much behind the rock but I can say that it is a truly beautiful and one of a kind rock. Excuse me, meteorite.

Some beleive that it is a very powerful gem and that it can be used with meditation but to counteract the supposed "gravitational pull", one must place by their feet black tourmaline, hematite, tiger's eye, smoky quartz, red jasper, or obsidian. As much as a spiritual person I am, I don't know if I actually beleive this. Maybe I should give it a try and see if there is really a gravity existence to it. I'll be sure to let you know what I find out.

On the other hand, I do feel a power that emanates from it and I feel happy or should I say a better sense of lightness within myself when I am wearing the gems. I feel that my mind is much more clear and that my stress level is reduced. Nonetheless, I do love my green gems and they bring me great pleasure when wearing them.

My first pair of Moldavite earrings disappeared. Bello and I went to Nabbalicious' wedding in Chicago a few years ago and while packing for the trip home, I had put them in Belle's carry on bag, in a specific place so that I would remember them. When we got home and I tried to retrieve them, they were gone. I turned that bag inside and out. There was one pocket, not deep, and I turned it inside out to find nothing. I was so broken hearted. Then, exactly one year later, we were on our way to Bello's mom's house, Belle was putting something inside the side pocket of her bag, opened it up and right there were my Moldavite earrings. Belle was shocked, I was shocked and Bello was shocked. I called Bello's mom right away and she couldn't beleive it. It also turns out that for my birthday, she had bought me a replacement of the earrings. She had to exchange them and instead, I got a Moldavite necklace that I cherish. A couple of years later, again, Bello's mom bought me another pair of the green earrings.

I absolutely love my green gems and that necklace stays around my neck everyday.
