I Have No Remorse

It’s about that time; the time where all the Halloween costumes appear in the stores, spooky and cute decorations on the shelves and the vast amount of candy. It’s that one time of the year where parents tell their children it’s okay to take candy from a stranger.

My self-control mysteriously disappears when I see those Halloween decorations. I hold back nothing and I feel no remorse when that cash register rings up $100. To me, it’s money well spent and Halloween is my exception to money overindulgence. I’d rather forbear food for the night than pass up an adorable decoration.

Every year, my collection of Halloween decor becomes larger and larger. Every year, we become more creative with how we decorate our apartment. I love our apartment during Halloween; it’s like walking into a haunted cave. It’s dark, spider web and spiders everywhere, pumpkin, licorice and caramel apple scented candles on the tables, window stick-ons, skeleton chalices, pumpkins, witches, ghosts, you name it, I have it.

My favorite decoration is a 4 foot tall little boy. He’s dressed as a ghost and when you walk past him, a sensor goes off and he laughs like a chipmunk and says either, “Happy Halloween, Boo, I see you, or Trick or Treat”. I call him my son. My second favorite is my beautiful and enchanted witch, Delilah. She comes equipped with fiber optic strings that change color. She’s a delightful little thing with a bewitching smile.

Pictures are a maybe, if I am so inclined to do so. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

For now, I will force myself to go broke for there is no spell in the world that could break this hex called OVERSPEND ON CRAP YOU DON’T NEED.
