Shifting Focus for Politcal Attack

I was reading the article about the shootings in Colorado. I have to say that I am completely stunned and at a loss for words. I cannot imagine the pain and the terror that those students, parents and community are going through. It’s Columbine all over again only the killer was a middle-aged white man.

It is uncommon for minorities to commit crimes such as sadistic killing, crime sprees, murder sprees and serial killing. The majority of these types of crime have been committed by white men. No one really knows the exact reason of why white men commit such crimes nor do we know what makes them tick.

These killers among us are the ones that we should be worried about. When we read or watch the news about isolated killings or crimes, our neighborhoods become a temporary watch tower and rightfully so. However, the chances of most of these crimes reoccurring are very slim.

I often like to converse with people on the Yahoo message boards about articles. However, there is something that really disturbed me when I was on the message boards discussing the Colorado incident. A person with the username of grimreaper1356 wrote this:

“A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT ATTACKS SCHOOL KIDS IN COLORADO! THE A.C.L.U. HAS ACCOMPLISHED THEIR DREAMS AT LAST. THEY HAVE KICKED GOD AND THE BIBLE OUT AND INSTALLED THE DEVIL PACKING ASSULT WEAPONS.GO DEMOCRATS GO! THE PARTY OF THE A.C.L.U., LIBERALS AND HOMOSEXUALS! GO DEMS GO!IF YOU CAN'T PORK THE KIDS IN THEIR RECTUM THEN SHOOT THEM DOWN!”

This attack is a very creepy one especially being posted by a person with the name of “grimreaper”. What does the A.C.L.U., God, The Bible, Satan, Democrats, Liberals, Homosexuals and rectums have to do with a crazy and deranged man, walking into a school, sexually assaulting innocent girls, killing one and then committing suicide? Any theories? Our country has gone so demented that we have now lowered ourselves to blame everything bad on either Republicans or Democrats. I realize that there have always been strong disagreements between both sides, but this is going too far. Even some people who claimed to be Republican were appalled by this person’s post. It makes no sense and lacks any systematic thought or humanness. That comment my friends, is very disturbing because it is a classic sign of a potential criminal and to be more exact – a left or right-winged extremist which in either case, both can be just as destructive.

I could have easily pointed out that one of the top prolific killers was a Republican advocate; Ted Bundy. However, it proves to be a fruitless motivator considering Bundy wasn’t influenced politically to murder. Well, I lied, I did power a response using Ted Bundy BUT I did point out the obvious restriction on political motive.

Thinking back on the anniversary of 9/11 which I avoided; I have to say that I am glad that I didn’t give in to all the “United America” agility. Read the discussions on message boards about articles that people have posted. Take into consideration the websites that bash Republicans and Democrats. Who are we kidding here, people? There’s nothing united about us and there never will be as long as we continue to blame others and refuse to accept responsibility for our own stupidity.

Wake up Republicans and Democrats! There are problems out there that are in desperate need of attention and that focus should be keeping our own people safe FROM US!
