Weekend Update

I had a great weekend! On Saturday night, my dad (Mickey) came over and Bello, Belle and I cooked him a birthday dinner. We had Chicken Salsa, rice and Caesar Salad. The only thing that went wrong was the part when I burnt the Mexican Rice. I was too busy talking to Dad that I forgot about the rice! That was okay though cuz I had another recipe for Chicken Rice.

There is a restaurant that Mickey and Minnie had taken us to for my birthday last May. Bello and I had split a Caesar Salad for two. I had never tasted anything so good! We went again with Bello's parents and this time Bello and I paid special attention to the ingredients. They make the dressing right there in front of you. Bello has duplicated the recipe to the tee. It tasted exactly like the one at the restaurant. To say the least, Mickey was impressed. :

It was wonderful to spend time with my father. We played Uno, talked and laughed and had a great time. The unfortunate part was when Mickey called and said my step-mom (Minnie) wouldn't be coming up because she was in too much pain. For those of you who do not the story of Minnie, you can click here.

I have a correction make in the story though. Minnie is not going in for back surgery as I had originally thought. I want to speak to my father again about it because I understand part of it but I have to write it down because I am confused about this whole thing.

The latest news on Minnie is that 7 months after the transplant, she still is not feeling well and is in a lot of pain. Mickey had called the hospital to tell them that something needs to be done but his cries fell on deaf ears. Finally, he called again and asked if there were any other patients that have complications for liver transplants and if so, please have them contact Minnie so that she could figure out if this is normal. The hospital put Minnie in touch two patients, one who has never had the pain go away after the surgery but feels that she is better off than with the complications of her liver. The one person claims that the pain did not subside and things did not get better until about 18 months after the surgery. This was good news to Minnie and I am glad that she has hope! I know Minnie will get better. She's strong and determined and I don't doubt her for a moment.
